6 Forgotten Areas during an Interior Auto Detail
Many people believe that they are capable of tidying and cleaning the inside of their cars on their own without the help of a car wash and detail center. For the most part, detailing your car’s interior can be done at-home, especially if you know what to do and have the time to do it. For instance, vacuuming the upholstery and cleaning the windows is a must, and if you have the right tools and products, you can get these matters done without leaving the comfort of your garage. Nevertheless, what many car owners don’t realize is that they continuously forget to clean six important areas within their cars every time they do an interior auto detail.
Cup Holders
When you’re cleaning the inside of your vehicle, chances are that you’re skipping the cup holders. If you are like most people, then you probably have small objects stowed in the cup holders, like coins. As a result, when you do an interior auto detail, you clean around the cup holders and neglect to move anything you’ve left inside that could be concealing dust.
Door Pockets
Similarly, you probably forget all about the door pockets. After all, you barely use door pockets and having to lean down to clean dust and other particles sounds useless, and so it’s easy to get lazy and forget these important areas. However, door pockets collect a lot of dust and hair, especially since they’re disregarded for many months and sometimes even years if you don’t go to a full car wash service from time to time.
Visor Mirror
Many are guilty of forgetting to clean this area in their car. A Visor mirror, being close to the roof, is oftentimes overlooked. Nevertheless, if you think about it, the top of the mirror gets dusty just as much as any other surface on your vehicle. Besides, if you continuously clean everything but the visor mirror, you will suddenly find that it is the dirtiest object. Therefore, be sure to reach for the visor mirror and clean it properly before you finish your work.
Just because you vacuum the seats doesn’t mean that your job is done. It is just as necessary for you to clean between the seats since they accumulate a lot of hair, dust, and even items that you thought you lost forever. Thus, when you vacuum, be sure to clean these areas despite the fact that they’re hard to reach. Doing so will remove major dirt that you weren’t aware your car had.
Door and Trunk Jambs
Like everything else mentioned here, door and trunk jambs are constantly forgotten when people do an at-home interior auto detail, and you probably do the same. When you clean your vehicle, it is likely that you clean everything you regularly get in contact with when you’re driving. As a result, you don’t think about the jambs that are technically neither outside nor inside your car. These areas are hidden most of the time, and this causes many to not notice how filthy they can get.
Pedals
Lastly, you probably also forget about your car’s pedals. These can get dirty simply because people’s feet are meant to step on them. Consequently, if you step on mud right before you drive your car, you’ve directly dirtied the pedals. Unfortunately, because the pedals are low and hidden far beneath the wheel, people miss them. Nonetheless, cleaning them doesn’t take that much effort or time. All you need to do is remember them when you clean the inside of your vehicle.
